Three parking options were closest to the Benton Convention Center and conference hotels. Attendees who were not staying in a conference hotel may have used the 6th St. & Cherry St. parking deck.
- 6th St. & Cherry St. Parking Deck (519 N. Cherry St., Winston-Salem, 27101)
- $9.00 max. per day and overnight with in/out privileges. Hourly rates available.
- Connects to the Benton Convention Center. Use the Skywalk bridge from 3rd level of the parking deck. A one-block walk to the conference hotels.
- Deck is self-parking and self-pay using an online app called PayByPhone. Look for signs with a QR code and payment instructions posted in the deck.
- Cherry St. & Marshall St. Parking Deck (402 N Cherry St., Winston-Salem, 27101)
- $25.00 max. per day and overnight with in/out privileges. Hourly rates available.
- Connects to the Embassy Suites hotel, and via a Skywalk bridge to the Marriott hotel. Use an elevator in the Skywalk to access the Benton Convention Center.
- Deck is self-parking and self-pay using the Ticket kiosk, swipe your Credit Card, or pay Online. Look for signs with payment instructions posted in the deck.
- Marriott Valet Parking (425 N Cherry St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101)
- $25.00 max. per day and overnight with in/out privileges. Discounted for NCTSC.
- Adjacent to Marriott and available only to Marriott guests. If valet service is used, parking will be added to your guest room charges.
- Valet staff will park/retrieve your vehicle, except for law enforcement vehicles. Officers are permitted to self-park their own patrol vehicles in the valet lot.
NCTSC Parking Policy
Participants may have used the parking facility that best met their needs. Except as noted below, participants were responsible for paying their own parking fees at the conference.
- Participants who were commuting to/from the conference each day (i.e., those who were not staying at downtown hotels) may have requested a parking voucher. See instructions below for details.
- Participants who were staying at the Embassy Suites and Marriott hotels AND who received conference-paid room nights (e.g., via STEP credits, LEL/LECC, Speakers, GHSP staff) also received conference-paid parking for the same days. See instructions below for details.
- Participants who were GHSP grantees AND paid for conference expenses through their “in-state” line item will be reimbursed for parking post-conference provided their “in-state” line item has enough funds to do so.
Instructions for Conference-Paid Parking
All participants requesting conference-paid parking must have checked-in at the conference Registration counter with the Parking Coordinator to verify their eligibility and length of stay in the parking facilities.
- All Commuters may have requested a printed voucher for the 6th St. & Cherry St. Deck. Voucher must have been displayed on top of the vehicle dashboard while parked.
- Eligible Embassy Suites guests may have requested a printed validation pass to park in the Cherry St. & Marshall St. Deck or a voucher to park in the 6th St. & Cherry St. Deck.
- Eligible Marriott guests may have used Marriott Valet Parking or requested a voucher to park in the 6th St. & Cherry St. Deck. Law enforcement officers who used Valet service were allowed to self-park their patrol vehicles. Valet staff parked/retrieved vehicles for all other guests.
