What is a lane departure crash?

Crashes that occur due to a driver leaving their lane, including
run-off-road, fixed object, head-on, rollover, and sideswipe crash types (VHB).

When operating a vehicle, keep your eyes on the road, your hands on the wheel, and your mind on driving.

 

In 2019, over half of all fatal crashes involved a driver leaving the designated lane (NCDOT).
